We’re more than just another customs broker. Marine Air Land International Services is a nationally licensed customhouse broker and freight forwarder, founded by Mike Lopez and still run with the same focus on personal service.
Established in 1979 by Mike Lopez, our mission has always been personalized service. Mike was a visionary who set the standard for the industry: under his lead we were the first to transmit personal effects clearances to U.S. Customs electronically.
Our roots are hard work, dedication and making it as easy as possible for customers to ship their goods. We keep investing in modern, computerized systems so your transactions are accurate and error-free, and we are an authorized ACE broker.
We specialize in customs brokerage and in import and export air and ocean freight forwarding and consolidation. Our agents throughout the United States and the world arrange the safe shipping of your cargo from any foreign country to the USA, and we supervise its delivery through our cargo tracking system.
Working with us takes the risk out of shipping and keeps you out of the “red tape jungle”, abroad and in the United States. We’ll keep you up to date on new regulations and gladly answer any question about your shipping needs, and the result can be a substantial saving of time and money.

President / Ocean Operations
One of the youngest people to earn a customs broker’s license, in 1991, JR has worked in every part of the business, from entry clerk to management, after an early career running a team at a major bank. He makes his clients his number one priority.
CEO / CFO
Mike founded the company in 1979 after serving as vice president of two major customs brokers on the West Coast. On our Customs Advisory & International Trade team he makes sure your items meet government agency requirements, and he oversees cargo insurance and our finance department.
Vice President / Air Freight Operations
Mario handles air freight imports and U.S. Customs bonds, and is part of our U.S. Customs compliance team. He brings a background in IT and customer service from his earlier role as a team leader at a computer hardware store.
Traffic Manager / Dispatch & Transportation Quotes
“Tony” has been with us since 1999, starting in accounts payable before moving into transportation. He manages millions of pounds of freight a year, from a single box to an LCL load or a full container, and also handles domestic moves.
Operations Assistant / Delivery Quotes
Fabian joined us in 2015. As a customs specialist he works daily with U.S. Customs, USDA, Fish & Wildlife and the FDA, making sure your paperwork is compliant and submitted to every agency involved. He came to us with a background in agriculture.
